Pedicure: Purpose, Material Required and Procedure
It is basically the care of feet, legs and toe nails.
Purpose of pedicure:
- To keep the feet clean, fair and in good condition.
- To make the skin soft and smooth.
- It improves blood circulation, nourishes the skin of leg and the foot muscles.
- To keep the toe nails clean, well shaped and shiny
Material required:
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Pedicure Shampoo
- Cuticle scissor
- Nail cutter
- Nail filer
- Pumice stone
- Nail buffer
- Bleach
- Sponge
- Scrub/Cold cream
- Small tub for foot bath
- Lukewarm water
- Nail paint remover
- Foot scrapper
Steps to do pedicure:
- Take some lukewarm water in small tub.
- Add small amount (almost 1 pouch) of pedicure shampoo and hydrogen peroxide in that water.
- Mix it gently.
- Remove old nail paint from toe nails using nail paint remover.
- Dip your feet in that water for minimum 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, add some cold cream on the toe nails and then again dip at least for 15 - 20 minutes.
- With the help of cuticle scissor and flat instrument in the pedicure kit, clean your toe nails.
- Then file your nails with an emery board. It is best to file from the edges towards the centre of your nails.
- Then with the help of buffer, following the order as given on the buffer, make your nails glowing.
- With pumice stone and foot scrapper, clean your foot.
- Then make bleach by adding bleach cream and activator and apply on your feet. Keep it till it gets dry.
- Clean it with the help of sponge.
- Massage with pedicure scrub or simply by cold cream.
- This will make your feet clean and fair.
